Dear Mr. Ed Sullivan:

Bob Hope joins me in asking you to participate in the Third International Blind Golfers Tournament to be held in Pennsylvania for the first time.

The blind contenders play for individual and team championships October 2-3 and on October 4 they team up with celebrities, such as you and Mr. Hope, for Scotch foursome play.

All the events are spectator ones designed to raise funds for the U.S. Blind Golfers Foundation, Inc., and to dramatically demonstrate the capabilities of the blind and their value to employers and their communities.

I will be playing on October 4 as will Bob Hop, Mike Douglas and other. Your participation that day from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., or any portion thereof, would be deeply appreciated. Could you also attend the Awards Banquet with us that evening?

All events will take place at the Edgmont Golf Club, Edgemont, Pennsylvania -- quite near Philadelphia. The Banquet will be served under a gala tent on the Edgmont grounds. The Club will make available rooms for you, Bob Hope, Mike Douglas, myself and others.

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Raymond P. Shafer
