Texan shoots an 84 to take flight in blind tournament

Bruce Hooper of San Antonio, Texas, won his flight yesterday in the United States Blind Golf Association National Championship by firing the lowest 36-hole score at Edgmont Country Club in Delaware County.

Competing in the B-2 (Vision Impaired Division) flight, Hooper carded an 84 for a 167 total. He is a two-time U.S. Blind Golf Association champion.

Other flight winners were Jim Baker of Nashville in the B-1 (Totally Blind Division); Ron Plath of Lake Oswego, Ore., in B-3 (Vision Impaired Division); and George Jones of Hilton Head Island, S.C., in Senior.
